Reform our Voting System, CIP signs letter to Guardian with partners
Delighted to be a signatory to this letter in The Guardian today. Alongside Neal Lawson Tom Brake Alberto S. Dhananjayan Sriskandarajah Willie Sullivan Rachael Henry we call for all parties to ensure that this is the last election held under the first past the post voting system.
It's time for cross-party co-operation to ensure that a fairer system, where everyone's vote counts, is in place for the next time we go to the polls.
"Failure to reform our institutions to give people a meaningful voice will only further undermine trust and engagement in our politics and lead to greater alienation and distrust. This must be the last general election when the ideas we need are kept off the table because only a tiny percentage of people’s votes count."
Can we keep in touch?
