Dear [MP’s Name],
I hope you’re well.
I’m writing to ask whether you have received the invitation to the National Emergency Briefing on the climate crisis, taking place this Thursday, 27 November, at Westminster Central Hall and to check whether you intend to attend.
As you may know, this non-political briefing has been organised by civil society to address a gap left by the Government’s commitments under the Paris Agreement to inform both politicians and the public about climate risks. Given the urgency and scale of the issue, it feels essential that all MPs hear directly from the country’s leading experts. Professor Mike Berners-Lee will be chairing the session.
You should already have received an invitation from the organisers. If not, they can be contacted at [email protected]. Further information is available at www.nebriefing.org.
I would be grateful if you could let me know whether you plan to attend. It would mean a great deal to me, as your constituent, to know this important issue is being given full consideration.
Kind regards,
